This is a hike at Spruce Run Nature Center to see some peculiar occurrences in nature. Then, you will be able to ponder, speculate, and wonder, as I have, how these things could have happened.
Bring: water bottles, lunch, good hiking boots (waterproof, ideally), and perhaps, dry socks.
Rain (or flooding) date - one week later.

Spend an afternoon on the water (Scioto River or Alum Creek) for you and a group of your friends (up to 3 other people). Lessons for beginners or slalom skiers. Beer and wine likely to be on board along with veggies and dip. If you prefer you can spend the afternoon on the boat. Feel free to bring whatever music you would like to hear. Date for next June to be determined by the donor and auction winner.

You bring yourselves and towels, we’ll have you as our guests at Northwest Swim Club, and supply a picnic dinner. There is a hot tub, large slide, with changing room and showers. Lap lanes for real exercise! After a hot day, come and relax poolside with a delicious summer meal! (please note, no alcohol permitted).

After dinner, we will play Guesstures, a fun variant on charades. We may also play Dixit, a party game with fanciful and fun art. This event will be indoors.

In times like these, we all need Comfort Food, so Jane Tessier and Pat Snyder, who in the past have brought you food from the Civil Rights movement, Morocco and Italy are going to bring you an evening of Pure Comfort Food. They’ll offer simply delicious dishes to warm your heart and your tummy, with the assistance of a bit of wine. And this year, for the first time, the menu will be a surprise, so this is a trust fall situation. We can only guarantee that will all be homemade, and you will leave with the recipes. So lean on back, trust us and place your bid. Like our Italian dinner, this one will be at the lovely home of Jane’s son in Worthington.

Do you love contemporary American poetry AND tea? Come read and discuss select poems from contemporary poets while sipping tea. This poetry class with a language and literature instructor will gently open doors to new ways of seeing and appreciating American poets. Event will last 2 hours.

Join Amanda, Jim, and River for an early evening ride on the beautiful, shady Alum Creek Trail, followed by one of our favorite early autumn vegetarian dinners!

We will meet at our house and bike to the trail, half a mile’s ride mostly in bike lanes. You can also drive and park by the trail if you feel more comfortable. We will bike north on the trail through forests, fields, and over unique bridges that cross the creek, for a comfortable one-hour out and back ride of up to 12 miles.

Then we will retire to our back yard to enjoy each other’s company as the day cools and the sun sets. We will enjoy locally grown tomatoes and basil, fresh mozzarella, corn on the cob, and wine or juice. Vegan options available on request.
